Lumineers at Nicholas Cosmetic Dental Center

An attractive smile is a key ingredient for confidence. And confidence can go a long way. For instant, beautiful smiles, Nicholas Cosmetic Dental Center is offering Lumineers to their patients in the Philadelphia, PA area.

Lumineers are ultra-thin porcelain veneers that are bonded right to the front of your existing teeth. They are durable to last over twenty years, but are completely reversible if desired. They work well to fix the look of stained, discolored teeth, as well as teeth that have gaps, cracks, or are misaligned.

Lumineers are created in a dental laboratory to be completely customized to your smile. They are made to fit your teeth and look natural in your mouth. First, your dentist will take impressions of your upper and lower teeth, along with photos that will help the creation of each shell. When the shells are ready to be placed, your dentist will lightly etch the surface of your tooth for a strong bond, and then place the Lumineers. Your dentist will then check for a good fit and natural bite.

Lumineers are a quick way to improve the aesthetic look of your smile without the major dental work of surgery or braces. They are also stain-resistant, also so having that bright, white smile is possible for a long time!

If you have been longing for an attractive, fresh smile, come see us at our Philadelphia, PA office for a Lumineers consultation. To schedule, call (215) 279-1193 or visit our Nicholas Cosmetic Dental Center website, www.nicholascosmeticdentalcenter.com

Traditional Implants and Mini Implants

Replacing teeth is vital for your oral health. Missing teeth can lead to a degenerated jawbone, a change in facial structure, and irritated gums. This is why the dentists here at Nicholas Cosmetic Dental Center provide dental implants to replace missing teeth. Traditional implants and mini implants are available to allow the best options for our patients.

Traditional implants are full sized tooth replacements. They are better than bridges, because there is no reduction of healthy, adjacent teeth in order to place them. They are also better options than dentures, because there is no taking them out or having them slip around while talking or chewing.

Mini implants are great for tooth replacement in a smaller space. They are also quicker to install, often able to be completed within one day. Another use is a more stable base for dentures. By installing four to six mini implants along the gum line, a full set of dentures can be securely clicked into place.

Both types of implants are completely customized. They are created in a dental lab where they are made to fit perfectly with your nearby teeth and have the look and feel of a normal tooth. With good care, both types can last a lifetime.

If you are looking for permanent tooth replacement, dental implants may be the option for you! To schedule a consultation, call our Philadelphia, PA practice at (215) 279-1193 or visit our website, www.nicholascosmeticdentalcenter.com

Invisalign for Nearly Invisible and Comfortable Teeth Straightening

We want to offer our patients the most comfortable experience for their dental work. For those who are interested in braces, but do not want to go through the process wearing the noticeable and physically irritating metal braces, Invisalign is an option here at Nicholas Cosmetic Dental Center in Philadelphia, PA.

Invisalign is a teeth straightening system that uses clear, plastic trays to move teeth instead of brackets and wires. They are not nearly as noticeable as the traditional metal braces and also not nearly as irritating to the mouth. The plastic is smooth and shaped to your teeth, so your cheeks and gums are not scratched and calloused.

Your dentist will take an impression of your teeth and then create a step by step process for straightening your teeth. The tray aligners are created and changed out every two weeks. You will go back to see your dentist once every four to five weeks to make sure that the process is going as planned. The trays should be worn as much as possible, about twenty to twenty-two hours per day. You can take them out when you eat and brush your teeth, which is another clear advantage over traditional braces!

If you are looking to straighten your teeth and want to see if Invisalign could be right for you, schedule a consultation with our dentists here at Nicholas Cosmetic Dental Center located in Philadelphia, PA. To schedule or for more information, call (215) 279-1193 or visit our website, www.nicholascosmeticdentalcenter.com

Inlays and Onlays

At Nicholas Cosmetic Dental Center, Dr. Shireen Malik and Dr. James Cavalancia want to provide their patients with options when it comes to repairing damaged teeth. Since each patient’s dental needs are different, the best treatment for one patient may not be the best treatment for another.  That’s why we provide options for replacing teeth damaged by decay or injury.

Traditional fillings, also called direct fillings, are a good choice for patients who need to repair damaged teeth. However, when restorative needs are more than a filling can provide, inlays and onlays are the ideal dental option. Inlays/onlays are used to repair a tooth that has been damaged due to cavity or injury. These molded dental prosthetics are applied to the damaged tooth, preserving its structure and the health of your smile.

Some advantages of an inlay/onlay are it often covers less area of a tooth than a traditional filling. This means more of the natural tooth is preserved. In addition, inlays/onlays fit precisely, which reduces the amount of bacteria that can get between gaps or spaces. Inlays/onlays are also stronger than traditional fillings and tend to last longer.

Dr. Shireen Malik and Dr. James Cavalancia will be happy to discuss inlays/onlays with you and help you decide what works best for you. To schedule an appointment at Nicholas Cosmetic Dental Center, call (215) 279-1193 or visit www.nicholascosmeticdentalcenter.com for more information.
